Résumé du livre

This report presents water-pressure and velocity measurements obtained at the Langley impact basin during landing tests of a prismatic model having a beam-lading coefficient of 18.8. Tests were made in smooth water at fixed trims of 6, 15, 30, and 45 degrees for a range of flight-path angles from approximately 2 to 20 degrees. The instantaneous pressures for a given trim, draft, and location of the hull bottom are found to be proportional to the square of the velocity normal to the keel.
