Résumé du livre

Results are presented of a brief palynological examination of samples of the Christopher Formation (Albian) from four localities within the Sverdrup Basin. Approximately seventy spore and pollen entities (marine phytoplankton are not treated) are illustrated and their environmental implications are discussed briefly. Generally, the microflora is comparatively large and similar to that of more southerly regions; a warm temperature climate is suggested by the assemblage. The upper part of the formation contains the first occurrence of tricolpate (definition angiosperm) pollen.
