Résumé du livre
The Days of Sunshine is a collection of stories about a young boy growing up in rural Georgia and the special relationship he shares with his grandparents. Taking place in a time before electricity and on the cusp of a new age, the author recounts memories in his life from the mid-1940s through the mid-1950s. These stories tell of the unique bond that is formed between grandparents and grandchildren. The young boy is allowed to roam, without fear, and explore all the woods, fields, and streams of the countryside. The boy's young life was pure Americana, a blending of the nineteenth century and the twentieth century. It was a time of sunny days and adventure, a time of bare feet and fishing trips, and a time of exploration and learning. But, most of all, it was a time of excitement and fun. The book is very informative about rural Georgia, the people who lived in that time and place, and the experiences that molded their lives.
