It Happened in Saint Joseph, Missouri Or not The story goes: There was once a magnificent old house on a certain tree lined street in beautiful, historic Saint Joseph, Missouri, where excitement reigned and laughter and singing erupted at odd hours in the night. Where stomping dancing blocked out the screams of victims, and all was silenced in the light of day. Is the house a myth? No one knows for sure, but as the story goes, there was one sweltering summer night that happened many years ago when all hell broke loose in a sumptuous, highly rated brothel where murder and mayhem took place. But, like I said before, no one knows for sure. There is no proof of a house standing on a certain street that no one knows for sure where it is located. It might be in the downtown area, or maybe in the hoity-toity uptown, or is it anywhere around town? Once-upon-a-time, there was a street where stately old homes took precedence over all the rest, but they are all gone now. Obliterated for all time, with not a hint left that they even existed. Of course, I'm not sure about that, either. The only people who know for sure are the Benton girls of 1952, and they will never tell!
