Résumé du livre
Given this high level of agreement, I tested the more complex criterion that people lack cognitive support for their self-transcendence values. Experiment 1 tested an important implication of the hypothesis that people lack cognitive support people for these values. It was predicted and found that analyzing one's reasons for such values caused the values to change, a finding that would be expected only if individuals lack cognitive support for their values. Consistent with this reasoning, Experiment 2 found that analyzing reasons for values caused value change only when participants were not given cognitive support for their values.
