Résumé du livre
This qualitative research project provides a new perspective on susceptibility to sexual abuse. the study focuses on secondary prevention, and on the connection that has been found between emotional deprivation and children's susceptibility to sexual exploitation. It describes the manner in which children with a background of emotional deprivation are more susceptible to sexual exploitation by pseudo-parental figures. the study integrates an original theoretical perspective with a practical application. It presents an analysis of the relationship between children's psychological attributes and their susceptibility to exploitation, and demonstrates the utilization of the theory in clinical work. While presenting a perspective from within the field of expressive psychoanalysis, the study combines psychoanalysis with drama and play therapy, referring to theories and techniques from both disciplines. This work adds to the existing literature by enhancing the observation and comprehension of children's susceptibility to exploitation in general, and of the characteristics of susceptibility as they manifest in children's play in particular. Hopefully this research will assist in creating prevention programs based on psychological, rather than exclusively educational, insights.
