 This book is the result of research done by advocates and experts in criminalistic research. Can be said that this is the extract of legal criminalistic research that was done by this research group. The author of the book says it’s a directory, if this book is used in any other way the person that does so is fully responsible  for his or her actions. The book is filled with thesis And notes that were made during one on one lectures and talks with an instructor of the south African criminal knife tradition. The instructor’s name is John Lloyd, in this book the whole South African criminal tradition is described in thesis. 

At the very beginning of the book it states. “ The south African criminal knife tradition is based on tricks or lies” How to trick or lie to a person in order for that person to not understand that he’s being lied to and not understand what is going on. 

Describing the actual tradition the author states: “ in fact we don’t call any certain technique “technique” There is such an notion as “flow” how a river flows? There is one flow of water second floor of water and third flow of water. There is the base flow there is the medium flow and then there is the flow of a higher level. In the base there is seven elements. 

Further the author is describing The different steps that he took in order to get acquainted with the South African criminal knife tradition, And the result of this is he understood the specific movements,  He understood about the corners and the way that the strikes need to be executed,  he understood where the strakes need to be and how to hide the knife, which reactions are not needed and which reactions a person has to get rid of, and also he understood the mechanism that allows for the mass to be put into the strike, understood the tactics of how one should act in extreme situations, How the intention can change at the time of the attack and what tactical specifics and differences the south African criminal knife tradition has. In the book it is talked about different logical models that allow someone to learn to work with a knife extremely fast. 

The author also mentions a style called “piper” citing Mr. Lloyd he writes: “Initially before piper there was “form style” , it’s a formal style game that was made up in a juvenile prison. This games intention is to see who starts to cry first,  Who sees the blood and will start acting strangely, so it’s a provocation to see how a person will react and act  in different situations. And that what we are learning is for the big boys it’s the south African criminal knife tradition”

In one of the talks the author was speaking to the instructor and the instructor stated: “ africans have always attacked with such speed that they’d never needed to protect themselves”
