The archeolgoical investigations of the West Family cemetery (44AX183) were conducted between December 1999 and July 2002 by R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates, on behalf of Hoffman Management, Inc. The site was located on the Hoffman property, a sixty acre tract in the West End section of the city of Alexandria, Virginia, that lies to the east of Telegraph Road and extends along the existing Sourthern Railroad right-of-way south of the Capital Beltway (I-95/495). This report was mandated by the city of Alexandria in response to Hoffman Managements proposed development of this site.
