Consists chiefly of correspondence of the British poet William Watson with his publisher Grant Richards, with some correspondence between Watson's brother Robert and Richards. Other correspondents include Mrs. R. Boyle, Michael Field, John Grier Hibben, Princeton Class of 1882, Arthur Machen, and to "My Dear Noth." In his correspondence, Watson discusses some of his works such as PENCRAFT; A Plea For The Older Ways (1916.) Included are four telegrams to Richards regarding the printing of Watson's EXCURSIONS IN CRITICISM with the response of the publishers Richards and of Elkin Mathews. Also included is an autographed engraving of Watson, galley proofs of EXCURSIONS IN CRITICISM, and clippings about William Watson and Tennyson.
