Simon Fraser first appears in the records of Keith, East Lothian in 1160. His descendants are traced to the Frasers of Philorth, the Lords of Saltoun; and the Frasers of Lovat, the Lords of Lovat. Traces the lines of succession to the twentieth century. The families lived in Aberdeenshire, Stirlingshire, Inverness-shire and elsewhere.
