Résumé du livre
Your book is a raw, semi autobiographical novel about a woman who survives narcissistic abuse, grief, and spiritual heartbreak, then slowly chooses herself. It follows a Black woman in Louisiana whose marriage and sense of identity are quietly breaking while she is trying to hold everything together for everyone else. As the relationship grows more toxic and confusing, she starts noticing patterns of emotional manipulation, trauma bonding, and generational wounds that she can no longer ignore. At the same time she is haunted by the loss of someone she loved deeply, strange spiritual signs, and the arrival of a man whose calm, consistent love feels nothing like the chaos she is used to. The story moves between memories, present day scenes, voicemails, and intimate reflections, almost like reading her private journal. It shows the psychological reality of loving a narcissist, the push and pull of leaving, the way faith can feel both broken and protective, and the long process of putting yourself back together piece by piece. Beneath the heartbreak it is a story about awakening, self love, and choosing a future that is not ruled by fear or abuse.
