Résumé du livre
Annotation Following an introductory history of black police officers and a summary of literature on their experiences, this study presents the results of a survey sent to members of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives in 2000. Among the topics covered by the survey are working and social relations with white officers; treatment of black officers by police departments; black officers and the public; perceptions of differential treatment in performance evaluations, discipline, and promotion; and perceived relations with supervisors of both races. Thompson teaches criminal justice at the U. of Southern Mississippi. Annotation (c)2003 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com).
