Describes investigations into the breeding of the horned grebe, Podiceps auritus, carried out on a 38 square kilometre study area near Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. The investigators monitored population size and productivity during 1986-96. Other aspects of breeding biology were studied in 1986, 1989, 1991, and 1992, including date of spring arrival and habitat selection.
