The purpose of this monograph is to examine the meanings in contemporary Russian of 25 prepositions. The first fifteen of these are arranged in five sets of spatial 'opposites', the first in each set denoting, in its primary meaning, location at, the second motion towards and theird withdrawal from a particular place. The other 10 prepositions are arranged in alphabetical order: accusative and prepositional, accusative and dative + instrumental. Other meanings are grouped thematically.
