Born in 1934 to a very large, very close Catholic family, Nick Thomas started working when he was eleven years old. His work ethic not only carried him through his paper route, but through technical school, a stint in the U.S. Air Force, and all around the world as the personal pilot for the Rockwell family. But even after everything from meeting President Ford to surviving an airplane crash to taking one of the first private planes into places like Moscow and Berlin, he says his life with his family was his greatest adventure. Nick shared the story of his life so far from his home, where he lives happily with his wife Marcia, his partner of 65 years. "I had a good, full life," he says, "But I was born to be retired."
