A thirteen-year-old girl, Xiao Fu, is caught up in the pressure of schoolwork and the depressed atmosphere of her family, until an old photo in her mother's book leads her to the "Half-Old Café" along the Danshuei River. Here, Xiao Fu meets Lun, a straight-laced and simple man, and Nana, a passionate and straightforward woman. It turns out that Lun and Nana's mother is no one else but an old friend of Xiao Fu's mother's, whom she hasn't contacted for a long time. In just a few days, the three of them become good friends who go to the mountains and the seas together, and the owner of the cafe, Kong Beard, is more like the soul of the three of them, who not only helps them get to know each other, but also learns more about themselves from the stories of the Analects of Confucius. What will happen to this marvelous relationship? How will their friendship bring them insights into their lives?
