Keach's book, The child's instructor, or, A new and early primmer was claimed to contain "several things contrary to the Doctrine and Ceremonies of the Church of England." Keach was convicted and sentenced to stand in the pillory at Ailsbury and at Winslow. His book was burned before him. He refused to recant his views.
