Résumé du livre

Stephen Duffy is a Dublin based author and poet. 'Holy Ground' is his first published anthology. This collection chronicles the tumultuous journey from childhood to manhood. In poems such as 'Making Scones', 'Catching Bees' and 'Winter My Auld Friend', Duffy delves into his youth, these poems are endearingly reminiscent of childhood and are loaded with memories, which will speak to the inner child in all. As a counter point, 'Cold Grey Granite', 'Small Talk' 'Summer High' and 'The Mourner' speak of the deeper, darker issues such as love lost, bereavement and torment. "The First Words' and 'Truth' are haunting, beautifully crafted works which portray with an uncanny precision the loss we have all felt as a love affair ends. Other works by Duffy include the humorous novels, 'Steaks & Stout' and 'Boned and Rolled'.
