The scope afforded by this dissertation is threefold. First, a chronological account of Berdyaev's life; second, a systematic presentation of his teachings; and third, a comparative study of his religious philosophy with that of Russian and Western thought on common subject-matters. It should be noted, however, that the range of agreement in each case does not preclude the existence of areas of disagreement elsewhere.
