Résumé du livre
The collection consists of papers related to the estate of Richard Olney. In his will, he appointed Peter Child Bacon (1804-1886) of Worcester, Mass., and Cromwell Moulton (1787-1856), his son-in-law, of Rehobeth, Mass., executors of his estate. The first two boxes of the collection, arranged according to each member of his family, include receipts, accounts, legal documents, and correspondence concerning each member's interest in the estate. The shares given to Simon and Elisha Olney were kept in trust by Peter Child Bacon. The bulk of Elisha's papers are personal requests for money and those of Simon concern similar financial arrangements and, following his death, much correspondence dealing with his apparently troublesome widow, Sally Ann Olney. Also included in the collection are two folders of the executors containing accounts, inventories, memoranda, and correspondence concerning the estate. This portion of the collection was reviewed by Albert G. Waite in 1945 and many of his notes are included.
