Alan Dobson's remarkable story is of a man T who started as a boy seaman and rose to become a naval officer and Fleet Air Arm pilot working with commandos in the FarEast during the 1950s and 60s.On leaving the Royal Navy, he joined a well-known retail chain as a humble trainee. In a couple of years he was managing one of their largest stores in the UK. Soon, he became the most senior executive outside the family owning the business. He continued on as an international consultant.
