General description of the collection: The Edwin C. Lickman papers is a small collection compiled during his 23 years of Army service. Papers include: certificates, orders, receipts, invitations, and passports. Lieutenant Lickman served as company commander, Company K, 57th Infantry (Philippine Scouts), at Fort William McKinley circa 1924 and three letters from that period are present. One is from a former houseboy, another asking for a recommendation, and the third from the first sergeant of the Company pleading innocence in a scandal involving privates of the Company. A roster / Christmas menu from 1932 with the company roster of 35th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Battalion, Company F, at Schofield Barracks is found. There is a two-page history entitled, "Military History of the Hawaiian Islands", which is included.
