This is a collection of correspondence, press cuttings, photographs, pamphlets, accounts, and manuscripts of books, articles, speeches, etc relating to the life of and career of James Park Thomson. It includes a letter book 1891-1895 and two volumes of press cuttings. Much of the collection relates to Thomson's work with the Royal Geographic Society of Australasia, Queensland and to his work in the field of Records relating primarily to subejcts of Australian geography. Other subjects mentioned include New Guinea, the Australian Aborigines and early exploration. There is a small group of letters, accounts and reciepts relating to Hellenic House.
