Résumé du livre
With the advent of ultra-high-speed public transportation, the need for more efficient arrangements of points of embarkation and disembarkation (“stops”) become a pressing necessity as such arrangements are established at the outset of a new system. To make the most of ultra-high-speed public transportation, more efficient stop arrangements are required before the system is put in place for use. We examine the common hub-and-spoke system used by most airlines, which “evolved” as a means to satisfy stop-minimization for air travelers. We take this same pattern, from a 2D sense and superimpose such a pattern on a 1D “circuit” or route of a public transportation conveyance system. Thus, we discuss those stop arrangements that cause the least speed reductions to passengers in a public transportation system. As speed becomes ever-faster, the bulk of passenger time occurs at stops. By minimizing stops, we realize the full potential of ultra-high-speed public transportation.
