Résumé du livre
"Part A, looks at the question of sporting activities in early Thames. Such as: what was its importance, any obstacles that needed to be addressed, along with sports committees that were established. Part B, is a first-hand account of sport in early Thames by the late historian and near life-long resident, Mr William (Toss) Hammond. Thanks to Ernie Slaney who interviewed Mr Hammond in 1967 on a number of topics, including early sports. These are available on CD thanks to the work of the Oral History Group - the full transcript on early sports, prepared by Lee Bissett, is included in this booklet. In Part C, a selection of individual sports will be covered, giving snippets of their history and a few of the people involved"--Page 1.
