Résumé du livre

This study of finfish seasonality and utilization of Hampton Roads and its entrance channels was commissioned by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to provide information necessary in the assessment of the environmental impact of Norfolk Harbor and channels deepening project. The primary objectives of the study were to determine the relative distribution and abundance of fish species in the study area and to describe their seasonal use patterns. With increasing sophistication, marine ecologists have come to the realization that a single year of study of seasonal phenomena provides a poor picture of events and processes. The two year duration of this study provides a somewhat clearer understanding of variability within the system. Additionally, where available, other sources of historic data have been incorporated. Keywords: Sampling; Elizabeth River; Chesapeake Bay.
