Port State Control is a ship inspection program whereby foreign vessels entering a sovereign state's waters are boarded and inspected to ensure compliance with major international maritime conventions. This report summarizes Canada's Port State Control activities during the year and presents statistical data on inspections, by flag and by type of vessel; deficiencies, by category; and detentions, by flag and by type of ship.
