Collection and analysis of data was conducted with a qualitative approach using the VanKaam Method. the final themes that emerged were; complex medical regimes, substance abuse, mental health, economic status, social support, and stigmatization. Both positive and negative experiences were recorded. Implications for health care, mental health and the need for collaborative care are provided along with future research suggestions.
