Résumé du livre

Margaret J. Crosby, Pastor/Teacher at City of Change in Rock Hill, S.C., and CEO of Rise Up & Walk, LLC, interviewed six pastors, an elder, and aminister, male and female and all over the age of 40. From her interviews and research, she discovered that because of shame and culturalconditioning, the African-American church is indeed reluctant to face the fact that mental illness exists within its congregations, resulting in theinability of the Black church to address it effectively. Shame On Us provides needed awareness of the problem and contains tests that can aid church leaders and congregants alike in identifying those who may need counselling, in ministering to those who seek help, and in referring thosewho may be suffering from mental health disorders to proper resources.
