Handscript reminiscences of Mrs. M.C. Lockwood, La Center, Washington, regarding an attack on passengers aboard the steamer "Columbia" by Rogue River Indian Chief John and his son; they killed one sailor and wounded two others. The attack took place off Humboldt Bay, California. The Indians were prisoners being transported by boat to prison at Benecia, California in June 1858.
