"Life in Micronesia" is a special compilation of 28 issues of a one- (occasionally two-) page, double-sided, 11x17" newsletter-type publication dealing with many aspects of life in Micronesia (principally the Marshall Islands) and written, in the main, by E.H. Bryan, Jr. (Edwin H. Bryan) between June 1965 and January 1966. At the top of each front page is the following 'running' title: "The Marshalls and the Pacific, No. [x] - Hourglass Special - [date]." Also on each front page is a text box containing the following statement (or a variation thereof): "The is the [first, fourth, nineteenth, etc.] in a series of articles concerning life in the Marshall Islands, against a background of the Pacific Ocean as a whole. They are being published exclusively in the HourGlass and written by E.H. Bryan, Jr., with the assistance of the staff of the Pacific Scientific Information Center at the Bernice P. Bishop Museum of which he is the manager.".
