Samuel Walker (ca. 1730-1798), perhaps the son of James Walker of Orange County, North Carolina, left a will in which he named his wife, Elenor, and five children. He died in Caswell County, North Carolina. His grandson, Matthew Moore Walker (1795-1857), was born in Orange County, North Carolina, the son of James Walker (1756- 1823). He married Hester Ann Moore (1817-1857) in Robertson County, Tennessee. They had eight children, 1820-1836. The family migrated to Williamson County, Illinois, in 1834. Descendants lived in Illinois and elsewhere.
