The letters and documents in the collection were assembled or copied by Warwick and his cousin Nathaniel Rich [d. 1636] as evidence against the mismanagement of affairs in Virginia by the Virginia Company. The majority of the collection consists of petitions, inquiries, charges and counter-charges. Several items deal with the Richs' interests in Bermuda.
