Haibun is a literary combination of terse poetic prose with a Haiku at the end or interspersed in longer pieces. Prose in haibun tells the story with images, gives information, defines the theme, creates a mood through tone, provides a background to spotlight the haiku. Haiku moves the story forward, takes the narrative in another direction, adds insight or another dimension to the prose, resolves the conflict in an unpredictable way, or questions the resolution of the prose. The prose is the narrative and haiku is the revelation or the reaction. Haiku- Ghazal: A new form of poetry which he calls Ghazal-Haiku. In this new form, the three-line concept of haiku is maintained while keeping the Ghazal tradition alive by repeating the refrain in the third line of every haiku, thereby preserving the essence of Ghazal. Haiku: A traditional Japanese haiku has evolved, however, its philosophy keeping focus on a brief moment in time; use of provocative, colorful images; an ability to be read in one breath, A sense of sudden enlightenment, emphasize on simplicity, and intensity is maintained in contemporary haiku.
