Directory of Ecological Land Classification Plot Data in Northwestern Region

The goal of the Ontario Ecological Land Classification Program is to establish a comprehensive and consistent province-wide approach for ecosystem description, inventory, and interpretation. The Ontario Ecological Data Repository was established to ensure that the Program's classification data is secure, consistent, and accessible. Data described in this report are contained within the Repository and were used to construct the Northwest Ontario Forest Ecosystem Classification. The data are also being used to construct a wetland ecosystem classification for northwestern Ontario. The report includes both forest and wetland ecosystem plot data including site name and latitude/longitude, soil type, vegetation type, data set, and whether certain types of data are available.
