This report describes the standing start tests (1198 to 1257) conducted in november, 1984 at westinghouse canada inc. under a contract jointly funded by atomic energy of canada limited, research company and ontario hydro. the objective of the test program is to provide experimental data to be used for modelling and verification of computer codes. the specific objectives were to investigate channel behaviour prior to channel venting, channel level response, and end fitting temperature distribution prior to venting under no-injection standing start conditions. sixty (60) tests were performed in the cold water injection test facility with a 6 m single channel in the double break configuration. a detailed description of the test facility, instrumentation and data acquisition system is given in reference [1].
