Ohio contemplative photographer, David L. Smith, traces the steps in the development of his aesthetic journey. The first (and smaller) section of the book combines text and black and white photos to tell the story of his introduction to photography and how his experiences as photo technician, color printer, filmmaker, television producer and media educator contributed to his aesthetic development. The greater part of the book is a portfolio of his milestone images presented in chronological order. Text on the opposing pages describes the context in which the images were made, particularly their contribution to his quest.
