The purpose of the exhibition was to "explore international cross-currents, using Whistler's friendships and connections as a focus." Includes several color and mostly B&W illustrations of paintings, sketches and photographs, plus bibliographic notes of various artists of the later nineteenth century whose "work seem to show some stylistic or thematic similarities" to Whistler's work.
