Résumé du livre
This collection consists of four business letters and documents, 1853-1889, including a land deed and a copy of a letter written by Thayer to Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919) in 1889 concerning the latter's potential as a presidential candidate. The collection also contains a volume of two manuscript plays, 1839-1840. The first play, entitled "The Miser," was written by Thayer for presentation at the graduation exercises of the Worcester Manual Labor School in 1840. It is a satirical view of the times, with occasional soliloquies in verse. The second play is a colloquy entitled "Border War," written by an unidentified Yale University student and concerning the Aroostook War, which erupted between Maine and Canada in 1839.
