In this edition Baker provides a concise introduction to the law of torts, setting out the basic rules, and exploring the many difficulties which this core subject presents to students. Developments in the law of negligence are examined, via the decisions in White v. Jones and Spring v. Guardian Assurance. New aspects of the law's approach to damages are illustrated by Page v Smith and Hunt v. Severs. Other key decisions examined include Cambridge Water Company v. Eastern Counties Leather (nuisance), and Henderson v. Merrett Syndicates (concurrent liability).
