"Sean Shaugnessy?" one of the detectives asked."Yes that's right" answered Sean wondering what all this was about."I am going to caution you that anything you say may be taken down and used in evidence against you. I am arresting you for unlawful sexual intercourse with a child under the age of sixteen, have you anything to say?"Sean was shocked for a moment and alarm bells were ringing in his brain. "I want a solicitor" he said quickly."You will be allowed to make a phone call at the station but now I am arresting you and taking you to the police station for questioning."On the ride to the police station Sean sat in between the two detectives and the two uniform police officers sat in the front. At the station he was taken into an interview room and questions were fired at him."Did you know that Rita Montebello was fourteen years old when you had sexual intercourse with her?""No I did not because she appeared much older" Sean replied truthfully."Where did you meet this girl?""In a discotheque in town" Sean answered."And you took her home?""Yes I gave her a lift home""Yes and you took her to your place and you had sexual intercourse with her, is that right?"Sean thought a moment and he was flustered and confused and he supposed that was right. "Yes" he answered.
