Résumé du livre

The surface abrasion characteristics of 150 pair of ophthalmic spectacle lenses were evaluated quarterly for 1 yr of wear at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. The spectacle lenses were plastic CR-39, but one lens in each pair was coated with a special abrasion-resistant coating. This coating is a newly developed process that is relatively easy to work with and can be applied by local optical laboratories. However, the abrasion-resistant coated lenses were not found to be significantly different from the uncoated lenses at the 8- and 12-month evaluations.
