Résumé du livre
"One of the most popular medical books in history, translated into numerous languages and appearing in over seventy editions. The first part is devoted to personal hygiene and the means by which anyone can maintain their health; the second part describes a variety of illnesses and diseases, with recommended therapies. Buchan (1719-1803) was physician to the Foundling Hospital at Ackworth where he spent years observing children and their diseases. His experiences contributed to his promotion of simple hygiene and basic regimens of breathing clean air, exercise and nutritious diets. He was also ahead of his time in advocating the cleaning of streets and the supply of clean water."--Catalog description, B & L Rootenberg.
