Résumé du livre
The ARC Small Grants Scheme (SGS) has the objectives of supporting high quality research and pilot research projects of modest cost and of supporting new researchers showing clear evidence of high research capacity. In their implementation of the Scheme universities also have commonly used it to prepare their researchers to win ARC Large Grants. This review found that the Scheme is valued in universities for a number of reasons, and the review recommends that the Scheme continue. It recommends nevertheless that the support of high quality research of modest cost be its sole objective, though assessors of proposals, in assessing the quality of the researcher, should take account of the researcherâs stage of career development.
