In the Matura Paper with the topic "Autodidactic learning of an Instrument" the questions of the different possible methods for autodidactic learning and how easy it is to learn an instrument autodidactically are discussed. Therefore, the theory of learning is presented with focus on the psychological and the physiological basis of learning. In the section about the psychological basis of learning the best conditions for a good learning process are discussed. As the brain is very important for learning, the chapter physiological basis of learning provides important information about the processes in a human brain while learning. Afterwards the paper gives an insight in the autodidactic learning and with that the processes and the different methods of autodidactic learning. As a last theory part, the instrument Tin Whistle and its history are presented. The rest of the paper is about the self-experiment that the author of the paper conducted. As a self-experiment he learned the Tin Whistle autodidactically. The paper presents the different learning methods the author used for learning the Tin Whistle, gives an overview over the different steps during the learning process and informs about problems which came up during the process of learning the Tin Whistle autodidactically. As a result, the paper shows that there are many different methods to learn an instrument without a teacher, especially with the internet. Furthermore, it can be said that it needs a lot of discipline and motivation to successfully learn an instrument autodidacticall.
