Résumé du livre

A weight function technique is used to obtain mode I stress intensity factor solutions for radially cracked rings loaded with arbitrary crack face pressure. When the crack face pressure is defined as the hoop stress occurring in an unflawed member subjected to complex loading, stress intensity factor calibrations may be obtained by the linear superposition method. This procedure is demonstrated with calculations for rings loaded in compression, for cylinders under internal and external pressure, and for centrifugal stresses induced by rotating the rings. Solutions obtained in this manner agree well with previous results found by other methods. It is suggested that the solution and techniques described here may have further application to other practical problems.
