Brown Family of Sullivan County, Missouri, Including Alexander, Samuel and Robert

Alexander M. Brown (1826-1877), parents unknown, was born in Pope County, Illinois, and enlisted to fight in the Mexican War with his brother or cousin Robert Brown. Another lifelong companion was Samuel H. Brown (b.1828), born in Ohio or Illinois, and Robert and Samuel married sisters. Alexander M. Brown married Rebecca Jane Frances in 1848 in Pleasant, Fulton County, Illinois, and moved to Sullivan County, Missouri. He also served in the Union Army during the Civil War, and in 1875 he and Robert decided to move to Brown County, Texas. Robert remained there, but Alexander returned to Sullivan County, Missouri. Descendants and relatives also lived in Texas, Kansas, Iowa, New York, New Jersey and elsewhere. Includes genealogical data about possible ancestors in Illinois, Pennsylvania and elsewhere.
