Résumé du livre

The well-known Basel-based civil engineering firm Schnetzer Puskas celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2023. A good time for a look back at the work done so far, a look ahead to future projects and current engineering topics. Over the years, the collaboration with Herzog & de Meuron, Bjarke Ingels, Toyo Ito and other famous architects has resulted in a remarkable portfolio. The book begins with the history of the art of civil engineering, presents important buildings and projects by Schnetzer Puskas from recent years (e.g. the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg). In a contemporary discourse, the relationship between civil engineer vs. architect and architect and client will be analysed. Texts by Sarah Springman, Emanuel Christ, Philippe Block, Andreas Ruby, Pierre de Meuron, Roger Boltshauser, among others. The book is supplemented with a portrait by photographer Albrecht Fuchs and a catalogue raisonné.
