This book puts the reader on the river during the heady days of the Paddle Steamers. We make the journey to Hay, Bourke and beyond. Travel on the river in all its moods was not always easy but exciting and challenging when the river was high and depressing when in drought. As well the book describes the struggle that boat owners and captains such as Theisz had with wool traders in the changing times of the late 19th century.
