Résumé du livre
This report (56 pages), from the Victorian Government's Adult, Community and further Education Board, looks at the definition of 'hard to reach' and what the characteristics of hard to reach learners are. This report distils best practices from the literature and provides case studies which show the application of best practice. The examples provided throughout the report are drawn from Australian and international sources. Best practice examples are discussed in two contexts: a set of principles broadly applicable to all hard to reach learners and several key groups (vulnerable workers, young people, Indigenous Australians and people a disability). Table of contents: * Executive summary * Essential best practice * Introduction (Changes in the labour market - effects on skills and education. Victorian context. Purpose and structure of the report) * Characteristics of hard-to-reach learners (Who are hard-to-reach learners?) * Best practice principles (Understanding the market. Course design and initial learner engagement. Course delivery and retention. Learner progression, completion and career guidance) * Specific learner groups (Vulnerable workers. Young people at risk. Indigenous Australians. People with a disability) * Conclusion * References.
